Examiner Standardisation Course

Oysterair can deliver the SFE(A) and TRE(A) standardisation course (MPA and SPHPCA) under the management system oversight of both the UK CAA and EASA (Denmark). We can also include training for existing examiners wishing to gain SFI/TRI AoC examination privileges

The initial SFE(A)/TRE(A) standardisation course comprises of the following training:

  • 1 day of self study including pre-course quiz.

  • 2 days of classroom training (regulations and briefing).​

  • 8 hours of synthetic training over 2 days completing examiner profiles.

Training for existing examiners wishing to add Instructor Assessment of Competence privileges (FCL.1005.SFE/TRE (a) (5)) comprises of:

  • 1 day of self study.

  • 1 day of training covering theory and practical delivery of 2 instructor AoC profiles.

TRE(A) Pre-Entry Requirements:

  • MPA: Completed 1,500 hours of flight time as a pilot of multi-pilot aeroplanes of which at least 500 hours shall be as PIC.

  • SPHPCA: Completed 500 hours of flight time as a pilot of SPAs, of which at least 200 hours shall be as PIC.

  • Hold a CPL(A) or ATPL(A) and a TRI certificate for the applicable type.

  • Completed at least 50 hours of flight instruction as a TRI, FI, or SFI in the applicable type or an FSTD representing that type (initial TRE(A) issue only).

  • Hold a class one medical.

SFE(A) Pre-Entry Requirements:

  • MPA: Hold or have held an ATPL(A) and a type rating, hold an SFI(A) certificate for the applicable type of aeroplane and have at least 1,500 hours of flight time as pilots of multi-pilot aeroplanes.

  • SPHPCA: Hold or have held a CPL(A) or an ATPL(A) and a type rating, hold an SFI(A) certificate for the applicable class or type of aeroplane, have at least 500 hours of flight time as pilots of single-pilot aeroplanes.

  • Completed at least 50 hours of flight instruction as a TRI, FI, or SFI in the applicable type or an FSTDrepresenting that type (initial SFE(A) issue only).
